Corpse Bride Dolls Finished
The Corpse Bride Dolls are complete Their stand is created using one of my large bases. It has been painted black and then the basic form of the bridge is bulked up using tinfoil and masking tape, and then covered in a layer of clay onto which the cobblestones where sculptured into. After a bake the cobblestones where painted up to complete the look. The base was then finished with an image of the moon surrounded by a multitude of vines to match the image on the DVD cover. And the rods...

Read MoreEmily is finished
Emily is completed The skirt part of Emily’s dress is cut to shape. Since her dress is meant to have a frayed jagged edge look, and beacuse of this her dress cannot be hemmed. So after cutting the jagged parts the edge is lined with Modge Podge to stop it from fraying. The blue decoration was added after. The dress was then lightly glued to her waist ready for the top part of the dress to be added. The top part of her dress was made from mulberry paper that has been soaked in a...

Emily’s Hair time Emily’s hair was sculpted out of clay in the movie, and then with the use of a mould tuned into latex. I can’t do that, but I still want the clay look. All those curls made of clay just wouldn’t be strong enough so I am going to stick with Tibetan Lambs Wool. But to get that clay look I have mixed up some Blue Genesis Heatset Paints with some TLS and have coated the wool in it. Then a quick bake with the heat gun to set both the paints and TLS. This...

Time to get their faces done Emily is first. Her head is sculptured with a mix of Living Doll Clay, Mould Maker and Blue Fimo Clay. Her eyes are made from white clay and inserted into her face before baking. After baking her cheek was carved away and a white bone was added using a bit of TLS to act as a glue between the cooked and uncooked clay. She was then painted in Genesis Heat Set Paints. I have eyelashes for her, but will add once all her baking is done. Victor comes next. Like...

Meet Emily and Victor I am a big fan of Corpse Bride, and have always wanted to make these dolls. I have also done Jack from The Nightmare before Christmas in the past – you can see his images in my gallery. So here we go… The armature is made using twisted wire, proportions are matched to a print out of the dolls. Note in the image the text is flipped. That is because for some reason the dolls on the cover of the DVD have been flipped. I guess they wanted Victor on the left?...
